PARIS
I walked across the Pont Neuf to check out La Semaritaine, a department store. I expected it would have a food hall like Harrod's. I could look at food for hours. Unfortunately, Le Semaritaine appears to have just one restaurant and six floors of luxury goods. No food hall.
I should have included Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in my travel itinerary. By all accounts, that department store, which is in a century-old Art Deco building, sets the bar high. Unfortunately, dear friends, I have nearly run out of steam. I would have had to walk an additional mile-and-a-half, and it just wasn't in me. I settled for lunch at Le Semaritaine. That worked out. It surprised me that a department store restaurant would be so good. After inhaling a perfectly done salmon in orange sauce, I walked back to the hotel and began packing.
Tonight is my last night in Paris.

Near my hotel is Le Procope, a restaurant that has stood on this spot since the 1600s. Benjamin Franklin ate here. |

Somewhere I have a picture of Ken on a bicycle in front of this place. |
