Hello, Family & Friends,
In a few hours, I will wheel my carry-on out the front door and embark on a journey I've planned for six months. Quite frankly, I'm sick of planning. I want to get on with it! Let's face it, I'm old. Time is short. This could very well be my last big trip. I know it's bonkers for a woman my age to venture on a solo three-week, four-country odyssey. But there's so much I want to see. Luckily, Western Europe makes it easy—short distances, frequent trains, surmountable language barriers, friendly people (reasonably), and lots of places to sit.
If you're interested in traveling with me via this blog, please save the link I attached to the email and check in as often as you like. I plan to post every day. I will mostly use the blog as a vehicle for posting photographs. Sometimes, though, I'll have a lot to say. Consider yourself warned. If something catches your eye or causes you to pause, I welcome your comments. They will make me feel connected to home.
First, my itinerary:
March 9 Depart Portland
March 10 Arrive in Amsterdam
March 11-12 Amsterdam
March 13 Ghent
March 14-17 Back in Amsterdam
March 18-22 London
March 23-27 Paris
March 28-30 Back in Amsterdam
Have a great trip!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, whoever you are. :)

ReplyDeleteThis is Anonymous Ann! Love the pic of Sunny, your avatar, on your luggage! Hope you haven't had too much jet lag and are off on your adventures in Amsterdam. We are facing rain, rain, and more rain here.
ReplyDeleteAnn, thanks for spurring me on! I'm so glad I can share my pictures with you this way.
DeleteJudi here. We just met Delain again, a Dutch band we have seen before. Seems appropriate.
ReplyDeleteLoving the pictures and your commentary Nicole. Thanks for taking us along with you. - Jane
